Flexible couplings, also known as spring bellows, are generally thinner walled with more convolutions per inch, providing greater flexibility and stroke compared to bellows. They are primarily used for alignment or vibration isolation rather than as roughing lines. The maximum compression for flexible couplings is typically 20% of the convolution length, with extension typically at 10%. Additionally, they undergo 10,000 load cycles at 20°C and 1013 mbar standard air pressure.
