Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2) viewports is produced through the vacuum Stockbarger technique in multiple diameters. It is renowned for its robustness and exceptional polishing capabilities.
Despite being slightly birefringent, Magnesium Fluoride is typically supplied with the optical axis cut perpendicular to the window face. While it is water-soluble, it transmits effectively into the Vacuum Ultraviolet (VUV) region, making it an ideal choice for Excimer laser applications.
