Rotatable ConFlat (CF) Blank Flanges with tapped bolt holes, commonly referred to as Rotatable blind flanges, feature a seal mechanism using a knife-edge machined beneath the flange’s flat surface. When the bolts of a flange-pair are tightened, the knife-edges create annular grooves on both sides of a soft metal gasket. The extruded metal effectively fills all machining marks and surface defects in the flange, resulting in a secure and leak-tight seal.

Assembly instructions CF Flanges:
• Apply a small amount of high temperature anti-seize compound to the bolt threads.
• Check that both flange surfaces are clean and sealing edges are free from nicks and scratches.
• Use clean, lint free gloves, unpack gasket.
• Place gasket in the knife edge.
• Align the mating hole pattern and leak test grooves.
• Install the proper bolts and tighten hand tight. Check to see that the flange faces are parallel.
• Tighten the bolts 1/4 to 1/2 turns using a circular clockwise pattern until the flange faces are metal to metal.
