These metal spring bellows typically allow a maximum compression of around 20% of the convolution length and an extension of approximately 10%. Flexible couplings are offered in either 321 or 316L material. In comparison to bellows, flexible couplings generally have thinner walls, more convolutions per inch, providing increased flexibility and stroke. They are primarily utilized for alignment or vibration isolation rather than as roughing lines. They are tested for 10,000 load alternations at 20°C and atmospheric pressure.
